A bank has closed its doors for an "exciting" refurbishment which will include new "state-of-the-art" cash machines.

HSBC on Slough High Street closed on Monday, April 29 and will not reopen for three weeks.

In the meantime, bank users are being encouraged to use a local post office to carry out transactions.

A HSBC UK spokesperson: “We continue to invest in our branch network to make our customers’ experience banking with us a good one.

"We are pleased that our Slough branch is getting a refresh, with some painting, new signage and the installation of new state-of-the-art cash machines, which we are excited about.”

HSBC will reopen at 9.30am on May 17.
